Built in the late 1800s, this ancestral house has often been recognized as a haven of peace and hospitality. During a time when Grandes-Piles was a vibrant hub of the forestry industry, the Capitainerie du Passant served as a valuable refuge for woodworkers, particularly the brave "log drivers" of the Saint-Maurice River.
Today, the building still proudly stands as a symbol of the Piles region in Mauricie. Nestled between the river, the village, and the forest, the Capitainerie du Passant invites you to discover its warm history and timeless charm.
